Island Trees Chorus Performs at 1st Annual Veterans Day Parade

The Island Trees HS Chorus, under the direction of chorus teacher Susan Oliveto, performed at the 1st Annual Nassau County Veterans Services Agency’s Veterans Day Parade on Sunday, Nov. 3. 

The students performed the “Star Spangled Banner” at the beginning of the ceremonial speeches and honors, and then concluded the ceremony with a rendition of “God Bless America”, in which all parade participants and spectators joined in.

Guest speakers included Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano, Town of Hempstead Supervisor Kate Murray, and Veterans Service Agency Deputy Director Scott Castillo. 

Here is a list of the students who performed: Chelsea Anderson, Emily Barcia, Alexandra Bonade, Samantha Brunie, Danielle Choisez, Loida Escobar, Colleen Lamberti, Danielle Lardi, Audrey McDonald, Crysta Morse, John Murphy, Sarah Murphy, Eduardo Navarrete, Kayla Strong, Estefania Torres-Restrepo, and Milissa Williams. 

"It was an honor to be a part of such an important day of recognizing and thanking all of our Veterans in all branches of the Armed Forces," said Oliveto.
