LEVITTOWN, NY — Island Trees Baseball/Softball in Levittown held a fundraiser recently to support volunteer first responders with the Wantagh-Levittown Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

The organization sold told Patch in an email it sold face coverings to help people "flatten the curve."

The organization's board thanked the community for their assistance and support, as well as Town of Hempstead Councilman Dennis Dunne for coordinating the effort and all first responders in the area.

The league donated $1,000, officials said. The children of tee ball and rookies were shown a new ambulance and received Halloween gift bags and bike reflectors.
