A Levittown boy took it upon himself to give back to the needy this holiday season.
Michael Giuliano, a second grader at Gardiners Avenue Elementary, recently completed his own "Toys for Tots" drive for the John Theissen Children's Foundation.Â
Michael asked his parents in November if there was any way he could give back to the less fortunate.
"He said, 'Mom, I'd like to do a toy drive for kids who don't have toys'" Gina said.
"We're very proud of him... he came up with this on his own."
Michael's toy drive ended on Wednesday and he received 21 toys and about 17 books total, getting donations from neighbors and schoolmates. However, there is a chance he may get more by Friday at school, Gina said.
After school, Michael will bring the toys down to the Theissen Foundation.
