Levittown Grads Place Second in EmPower Solar Competition
MacArthur High School science research students and 2015 alums earned $1,000 scholarships and internships at EmPower Solar.

Levittown Class of 2015 graduates and former MacArthur High School science research students James Daly and Grace Shin received second place in the EmPower Solar Competition at Hofstra University this summer.
James and Grace each received a $1,000 scholarship, as well as the opportunity to intern at EmPower Solar.
The EmPower Solar Student Competition challenged high school students from Long Island and New York City to utilize science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and creative components to analyze the potential for solar use in their own communities. Partners and guest judges of the competition included All Our Energy, Citizens Campaign for the Environment, Green Inside & Out, Locally Long Island, Operation SPLASH, the Town of Hempstead and Vision Long Island.
