Each year, the Roger Rees Awards Program recognizes outstanding student performances and achievements in high school musical theatre. To be considered for a prestigious Roger Rees Award this year, the performance of "Frozen Jr." was judged by three separate adjudicators. The top 25 females and top 25 males from high schools across New York City, Suffolk, Nassau, Rockland, Orange and Westchester counties were selected as nominees.

Five MacArthur students were selected as part of the top 50 nominees: Cassidy Baltazar (Anna), Fiona VonThaden (Elsa), Dylan Renart (Kristoff), John Munro (Hans) and Joseph Stallone (Olaf). Each nominee worked with Broadway professionals in acting and vocal coaching sessions and from the final 50, 12 were selected for additional recognition.
According to its website, "The Roger Rees Awards for Excellence in Student Performance is the Greater New York Regional Award Chapter of The Jimmy Awards, also known as The National High School Musical Theatre Awards, Broadways' celebration of high school theatre programs across America, presented annually by The Broadway League Foundation."

Baltazar was also honored as Up-and-Coming Actress in 2020 for her role in the high school's production of "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown." The district congratulates her on earning this outstanding achievement once again.
