Levittown Students Communicate with Hands

Summit Lane's ELL classes schooled in American Sign Language.

After completing a Journey’s Program unit on Helen Keller and Louis Braille, Summit Lane’s English language learners participated in an American Sign Language activity with Levittown teacher of the deaf Meaghan Lang.

Using their dominant hands, the students learned how to form the letters of the alphabet and played games to reinforce the skills they had acquired. They were also given name signs combining the first initial of their name and the sign for their favorite activity.
