MacArthur Generals Celebrate Homecoming With Big Victory
The high school held its homecoming game last week, and celebrated its graduating seniors.
LEVITTOWN, NY — School spirit was in the air outside of General Douglas MacArthur High School on April 17. The school hosted its annual homecoming football game and celebrated its seniors on the football field with safety measures in place.
Prior to the game against the Carey Seahawks, a senior ceremony was held for members of the cheerleading, football and kickline teams, along with members of the marching band and color guard. The seniors were invited onto the football field with their loved ones and were announced one by one. The limited crowd of spectators, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Tonie McDonald, along with Athletic Director Keith Snyder, MacArthur Principal Joseph Sheehan and assistant principals Anthony Allison and Anne Rao, cheered on the soon-to-be graduates.
“It has been an honor and a privilege to witness these student-athletes for the past four years,” said Sheehan. “They have conducted themselves with class, dignity and respect that exemplified the backbone of General Nation.”
