MacArthur High School Sports Teams Honored By Town Of Hempstead

Town officials recognized three teams from the school for their outstanding achievements and victories.

LEVITTOWN, NY — Three exceptional teams from General Douglas MacArthur High School were honored by Town of Hempstead officials on May 25.

Surrounded by MacArthur High School Principal Joseph Sheehan and Director of Physical Education, Health and Athletics J. Keith Snyder, student-athletes and coaches who took home titles such as Nassau County Champions, were recognized by Town of Hempstead Councilman Dennis Dunne and Town Clerk Kate Murray.

They presented a large congratulatory sign to members of the 2019-20 varsity cheerleading team who were named two-time Nassau County Champions, along with being ranked as third and fifth place in the nation. Dunne and Murray also unveiled congratulatory signs for the MacArthur 2019-20 varsity wrestling team and the girls varsity soccer team. The varsity wrestling team was named Nassau County Tournament Team Champions and Nassau County Dual Meet Champions, while the girls varsity soccer team was recognized as Nassau County Class A Champions and the 2019 Long Island Regional Finalist.
