Long Island Neighbors 'Copy' Elaborate Light Display
They knew they couldn't outdo the elaborate display next door, so they had fun instead.

A family in Levittown knew they couldn't compete with their neighbor's elaborate holiday light display, so they decided to take a different tactic to get noticed.
On Coachman Lane, the Engel house is decked out from roof to lawn in an elaborate, colorful light display. The Paganellis next door knew they couldn't do anything as grand, so they spelled out "DITTO" in lights with an arrow pointing to their neighbors.
According to Newsday, the Engels have been growing their light display for years. Their house is a common stop on holiday light tours in Nassau County. And the Paganellis, who have been their neighbors for more than 30 years, just couldn't compete.

While the Paganelli's sign has been getting a lot of attention, the neighbors on the other side of the Engels are getting in on the fun, too. CBS said Vinnie Neglia put a Grinch up on his roof and hung a string of lights to make it look like he was stealing it from the Paganellis.
Driving by the Engels' house and enjoying the display is totally free. But on Saturday, Dec. 10, the family is holding a fundraiser to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital from 5 to 9 p.m. Even Santa Claus is coming.
