NY Islanders Visit Levittown's Abbey Lane Elementary School

Abbey Lane Elementary School student council members recently received an exciting opportunity to speak to New York Islanders Brian Strait and Kevin Regin about how to become effective leaders in their school community. 

The Long Island hockey players visited the Levittown elementary school and dispensed advice on ways to set positive examples and be viewed as leaders by their peers, administrators and teachers.

“When people see you making good decisions, they will believe in you,” Mr. Regin told the students. “You can be a leader without putting on a jersey.”

Mr. Strait told the students that the choices they make will set them up for their future. He also stressed teamwork and setting goals to accomplish student council agendas.

Mr. Regin recommended that, most importantly, each student strive to be a good person and listen to his or her parents for guidance.
