Truck Strikes Overpass on Wantagh State Parkway

One lane on the southbound Wantagh State Parkway was closed most of the morning as yet another truck has struck an overpass on a Long Island road.

The incident happened around 9:20 a.m. south of exit W3W for Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown. The right lane of the road has been closed since then as crews work to clean up the debris.

It's unclear right now what caused the truck to get on the road, or if anyone was injured in the incident.

This is the second time in a week that a truck has struck the overpass of one of Nassau's highways and snarled traffic. On April 4, two trucks got onto the Southern State Parkway, and one struck an overpass.
