Long Island Weather: NWS Warns Of Freezing Rain
BREAKING: Very slippery conditions on Long Island roads expected during the morning commute.

Freezing rain is now expected to fall on parts of Long Island Wednesday morning, leading the National Weather Service to issued a winter weather advisory.
The advisory is in effect for all of Nassau County as well as northwestern Suffolk County until 11 a.m.
"Ice will result in very slippery conditions on sidewalks, roads and bridges, including during the morning commute," the advisory says.

For the rest of the island, the following hazardous weather outlook has been issued:
There is a low probability that a very brief period of freezing rain occurs this morning before a quick changeover to rain, particularly away from the immediate shore. If this does occur, icy pockets can be expected before noon.
Snow shouldn't be an issued with any accumulations expected to remain under an inch. Just small amounts of freezing rain, though, can cover the pavement and especially bridges with a solid glaze of ice making driving extremely dangerous and nearly impossible, the NWS says.
