20-Year-Old Assaults 5 People In Suffolk: Police

Two Suffolk Police officers were among those taken to the hospital Friday night.

LINDENHURST, NY – A 20-year-old man was arrested after he assaulted five people, including two Suffolk Police officers, in Lindenhurst Friday night, police said.

According to police, First Precinct officers responded to a report of an assault at South Delaware Avenue and Kansas Street at about 11:20 p.m. When officers arrived, they encountered Christian Perrone, who had earlier punched two men and one woman, police said.

When officers approached Perrone, he punched one of them in the face, breaking her nose, police said. Perrone resisted arrest and struggled with a second officer, who suffered a broken finger, police said.

The injured police officers were self-transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The three other people who were assaulted and Perrone were transported via ambulance to Good Samaritan for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Perrone, of Lindenhurst, was arrested and charged with two counts of second degree assault, three counts of third degree assault and resisting arrest. He was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip Saturday.
