This collection of videos, entitled the “Jo from Jovia Financial Literacy Series,” offers sound advice on a variety of money-related topics, explained in a way that is informative but fun—thanks to the charismatic advisor/spokesperson, Jo. The five videos—and explanation of the campaign—can be viewed on the Jovia Financial Credit Union landing page: https://www.joviafinancial.com/advice

“The team developed Jo with one thing in mind: Entertain while educating our audience,” said Rich DeSimone, EGC Vice President, Creative Director. “The financial space has a tendency to be somewhat flat and dry. We saw an opportunity to capitalize on that, so we created the fun, quirky, lovable spokesperson—appropriately named ‘Jo’.”

EGC Group worked with Jovia Financial Credit Union to develop “Jo from Jovia” for the purpose of helping their existing customers with financial literacy and a wide range of related topics. During each video, Jo breaks down the most complex financial questions and provides easy-to-understand answers and explanations on subjects that include mortgage tips, the difference between credit unions and banks, whether to buy or lease a car, and even a variety of different financially-related acronyms. Teaser videos were created on Jovia Financial Credit Union’s social media accounts, which drove users to the landing page.

“Jovia Financial Credit Union is committed to advancing people’s knowledge about financial literacy and providing education to our members,” said Renu Dalessandro, Chief Marketing Officer of Jovia Financial Credit Union. “What better way to educate than create a video series to teach the basics of finance and banking?”

“The social landscape moves quickly, so our short thumb-stopping teasers were meant to bring a smile to the viewer’s face and make them want to learn more,” DeSimone said. “We covered all of the most important searched-for topics to make sure we were giving our audience the information they’ve been looking for. This ‘edutainment’ style of video is a great way to build brand loyalty and humanize the brand. The videos were so well-received, we are currently in pre-production for a second round of Jo.”

For over 40 years, the Telly Awards has honored excellence in local, regional, and cable television commercials, in addition to non-broadcast video and television programming.
