Cuomo Responds After Ex-Aide Accuses Him Of Sexual Harassment
Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Monday addressed sexual harassment accusations lodged against him over the weekend by a former aide.

NEW YORK, NY — Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Monday addressed sexual harassment accusations made by a former aide over the weekend.
Lindsay Boylan, former deputy secretary for economic development and a special adviser to the governor, tweeted Sunday that Cuomo sexually harassed her for years.
"Many saw it, and watched," Boylan said. "I could never anticipate what to expect: would I be grilled on my work (which was very good) or harassed about my looks. Or would it be both in the same conversation? This was the way for years."

Boylan said she was not the only woman to face sexual harassment by Cuomo.
Not knowing what to expect what’s the most upsetting part aside from knowing that no one would do a damn thing even when they saw it.
No one.
And I *know* I am not the only woman.

She added she does not wish to talk to journalists about her comments.

"I am about validating the experience of countless women and making sure abuse stops," Boylan said. "My worst fear is that this continues."
Caitlin Girouard, the governor’s press secretary, told The New York Times on Sunday the accusations were not true.
Asked about the accusations Monday, Cuomo said he was aware of the tweets and called them false.
"The tweets were simply not true," he said.
Cuomo noted he respects women's right to come forward with harassment accusations and fought for that right. In 2018, Cuomo signed legislation to address sexual harassment such as mandating standards for sexual harassment training in workplaces.
