UHS P-TECH Students Visit East/West Industries Manufacturing Company

Uniondale, N.Y. - Uniondale High School students recently visited East/West Industries, globally recognized for its design and manufacturing excellence and as a trusted provider of choice for the industry’s most innovative new aircraft. The small, woman-owned company manufactures and distributes aircraft products. President Teresa Ferrano and Senior Director of Design & Development Mike Vetter spent time speaking to the high school senior students in the P-TECH Program about potential job opportunities at the facility.
East/West Industries was founded in 1968 on Long Island by Dom and Mary Spinosa. They are dedicated to creating products that ensure the safety of aircrew staff and passengers. The company offers more than 20 products and services for a range of 25 commercial fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters. The P-TECH seniors from Uniondale High School received a presentation on the company as well as a tour of the facility.
The New York State Pathways in Technology (NYS P-TECH) program is a partnership that will prepare thousands of New York students for high-paying jobs of the future in technology, manufacturing, healthcare and finance—fields that have high demand on Long Island.
