'Rhythm of the Knight' Performs at the Opening Night of International Film Festival

Brookville, N.Y.—The Uniondale Union Free School District (UFSD) Uniondale High School’s award winning Show Choir, Rhythm of the Knight, recently performed at the opening night reception of the ninth annual Gold Coast International Film Festival. Taking place at the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts, students performed show stopping pieces that featured the incredible talent of Uniondale High School students. Uniondale High School show choir members, dressed in sparkling sequined costumes, gave their all as they sang their hearts out and performed synchronized and acrobatic dances.
“We are incredibly impressed with our Show Choir for taking advantage of this unique opportunity. Every student who performed brought tremendous pride to the entire District,” said Dr. William K. Lloyd, Superintendent of the Uniondale Union Free School District. “It was evident that a lot of dedication, hard work and emotion was put into the performance. This is indicative of the District’s support of students to grow and foster their passions and take advantage of the various academic and extracurricular opportunities presented to them.”
Featured at the Gold Coast International Film Festival was renowned Broadway, Hollywood, and television star, Ben Vereen. Mr. Vereen is slated to be the recipient of this year’s Gold Coast Arts Center’s 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award. In honor of his remarkable influence within show business, students performed “Magic to Do” and “By Your Side”, two selections made famous by the iconic actor, singer and Broadway star.
