Uniondale UFSD Named 2020 Best Communities for Music Education by NAMM

Uniondale, N.Y. - The Uniondale Union Free School District has recently been recognized for being one of the best communities for supporting music education. The 2020 Best Communities for Music Education (BCME) award by the NAMM Foundation is a tremendous accomplishment for the District as it highlights the many talents of student musicians and the consistent support for music given by the Uniondale community.
“The music and art programs that our District provides enrich our students’ lives,” said Dr. William K. Lloyd, Superintendent of schools. “Our music teachers and students continue to exceed expectations each year. We are thrilled to receive such a prestigious award for our talented students and dedicated faculty.”
This award recognizes outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students and community leaders who have made music education part of a well-rounded education. Designations are made to districts that demonstrate an exceptionally high commitment and access to music education. Each school year, the Uniondale Union Free School District’s Fine Arts department gives an array of opportunities for student musicians at the elementary, middle and high school level to showcase their talent, in addition to providing daily music education.
