This Week at the Sands Point Preserve

Great events for all ages

Join the Sands Point Preserve Conservancy in celebrating the holidays and the beauty of the season. This week there are several wonderful events at the Preserve!

Champions for Charity at the American Manhasset and Wheatley Plaza runs from December 1 to 4 – when you shop for holiday gifts, choose the Sands Point Preserve Conservancy as your designated charity, and twenty-five percent of pre-tax purchases will be donated to the Conservancy. Join us for a reception hosted by Funky Monkey on December 1 from 6 to 7:30 pm at 360 Wheatley Plaza, Greenvale, NY. Not Quite Christmas Cabaret – Composer Steven Lutvak returns to the Preserve with a stellar cast of Broadway performers, including Lauren Worsham, Mykal Kilgore, and Sally Wilfert, in this annual pre-holiday performance. The show takes place on December 3, from 7 to 10 pm, in the charming Winter Living Room of historic Hempstead House, a true Gatsby-era mansion. Tickets include cocktails, dinner, concert, and dessert with the performers. Limited VIP tickets are available for a special 6 pm cocktail hour with a moderated Q&A with Mr. Lutvak. Next Week: Holiday Tales at the Hearth - Join the holiday cheer at Hempstead House with a celebration of holiday traditions from around the world. Festive music will play, Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit, and special guest readers will share favorite stories by the library’s roaring fireplace. This year, the mansion’s former billiards room will be transformed into a reading room filled with magical stories from many cultures. The summer living room will have children’s crafts, including an enormous winter mural. Fun for the entire family.
