Uniondale, N.Y. —Uniondale Union Free School District’s Grand Avenue School recently held its annual "Whatever It Takes... Read to ME!" Community Reading day. Various District personnel and community members across all occupations were invited by Grand Avenue Principal, Mrs. Bryant-Bell, to read to scholars in different grades. Visitors were encouraged to bring their own favorite read aloud stories dependent on the grade level they chose to read to.

This year, guests included readers that spoke Spanish and even a reader that read in American Sign Language. District visitors were welcomed into the library by the principal and then assigned to a designated classroom. The guests were introduced to the children and then shared their joy of reading with the enthusiastic scholars. Before leaving, readers were given a small parting gift from Grand Avenue School as a token of appreciation.
