Woman Arrested For DWI After LI Crash That Injures Officer
The woman struck a police car that was parked on the shoulder for a traffic stop Friday night, police say. See video from the scene.

MOUNT SINAI, NY – A 30-year-old Port Jefferson woman was arrested for DWI after a three-car crash that injured herself and a Suffolk County Police officer, police said.
According to police, Elvia Turcios was driving a 2003 Nissan Altima west on Route 25A, near Mt. Sinai Avenue, around 11:30 p.m. when car struck an occupied Suffolk Police patrol car that was parked on the shoulder of the road with the emergency lights on during a traffic stop.
The Altima then struck a 2004 Jeep Cherokee that was traveling east on Route 25. The Altima then overturned, police said.

The Sixth Precinct officer in the police car and Turcios were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Turcios was charged with DWI and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and issued additional summonses. She was held at the Sixth Precinct overnight and was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip Saturday.
