Mid-Morning Fight On LES Leaves 1 Slashed, Officials Say

The person was taken to a hospital in serious condition, officials said.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY β€” A person was slashed after a large fight broke out on the Lower East Side Monday morning, July 22, officials said.

The injured person was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in serious condition just after 11 a.m. from Gouverneur and Madison streets, an FDNY spokesperson said.

The slashing happened after a fight involving about eight people broke out at 318 Madison St., according to the NYPD.

No arrests had been made as of Monday afternoon, the NYPD spokesperson said.

The slashing comes days after a stabbing in a Lower East Side barbershop sent a man to the hospital in serious condition Friday.
