This Is The Best Ice Cream Sandwich In NYC

LITTLE ITALY, NY — Polosud on Mott Street has the best ice cream sandwich in New York City, according to Grub Street's list of top 15.

Grub Street named Polosud's gelato-filled brioche bun the "Absolute Best" ice cream sandwich in New York City — where gelato lovers choose the filling flavor, stuffed inside of an in-house brioche bun.

"The bun is warm, the ice cream cold, and the whole thing is as neat as a pin, like a regular gelato con brioche crossed with a cucumber sandwich," Grub Street wrote.

Giacomo d’Alessandro, an owner at Polosud, previously made headlines for his eye-catching frozen avocado desserts. Polosud, located at 166 Mott St. at Broome Street, opened last summer.

Grub Street's other top ice cream sandwiches including Villabate Alba in Bensonhurst and Morgenstern's Finest Ice Cream in Greenwich Village. The list also includes Oddfellows in the East Village and Bive on the Lower East Side.
