Car Goes Up In Flames On East Houston, FDNY Says
Firefighters rushed to East Houston and Pitt streets Tuesday morning for a car fire, an FDNY spokesman said.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY β A car caught fire on East Houston and Pitt streets Tuesday morning on the Lower East Side, an FDNY spokesman said.
Firefighters rushed to the car fire after reports of a car explosion about 9:10 a.m., the FDNY official said.
Thirteen firefighters responded, according to the department. One person suffered minor injuries, FDNY said.

The fire was reported as a car explosion, but it was unclear whether there was an explosion. The department will determine the cause of the fire.
