Chinatown Favorite Great NY Noodletown Closed For Rats, Roaches

The longtime Chinatown restaurant was closed by the health department this week after inspectors found rats, mice and roaches.

CHINATOWN, NY β€” The longtime Chinatown restaurant Great NY Noodletown was temporarily closed by the city this week after inspectors found evidence of rats, mice and roaches in the restaurant.

NYC health department records show that the restaurant was reviewed on Jan. 12, when city inspectors decided to temporarily shutter the restaurant until it addresses the issues, according to city records. Eater was first to report news of the neighborhood favorite's closure.

Great NY Noodletown, located at 28 Bowery, had evidence of rats and mice in the facility, as well as live roaches in the restaurant, according to the inspection. Other animals were apparently also present at the Chinatown spot: the inspection says that "live animals other than fish in tank or service animals" were spotted inside the restaurant.
