Chinese New Year Parade 2019 In NYC: Time, Route, Street Closures

Here's what you need to know for Chinatown's Lunar New Year parade.

CHINATOWN, NY β€” Celebrate the Year of the Pig during Manhattan's Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade on Sunday.

The Better Chinatown Society's 20th annual parade begins Feb. 17 at 1 p.m. at Mott and Hester streets in Lower Manhattan. The parade is expected to conclude at 4 p.m.

The route heads south along Mott to Chatham Square and continues to East Broadway. Then it heads north along Forsyth St. before finishing on the east side of Sara D. Roosevelt Park.

  • Mott St. between Grand and Canal streets.
  • Hester Street. between Bowery and Mulberry Street.
  • Elizabeth Street between Hester and Grand streets.

Route:

  • Mott Street between Canal Street and Chatham Square.
  • East Broadway between Chatham Square and Forsyth Street.
  • Eldridge Street between East Broadway and Hester Street.
  • Hester Street between Eldridge and Forsyth streets.
  • Forsyth Street between Hester and Grand streets.
  • Chatham Square between Mott Street and East Broadway

Dispersal:

  • Forsyth Street between Grand and Delancey streets.
  • Broome Street between Forsyth and Eldridge streets.
