Dead Baby Shark Found At Second Avenue F Train Station
"PSA beware landsharks on F train at night," one subway rider wrote on Instagram.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY β Rats might be the norm for subway riders in New York. But late Tuesday, one straphanger spotted a dead baby shark at an F train station β adding to the list of subway oddities New Yorkers have become accustomed to.
Just before midnight Tuesday, Max Roder was walking down the stairs at the Second Avenue F train stop heading to Hell's Kitchen when he spotted a baby shark.
"I was walking down the stairs and saw the little [guy] just lying there dead," Roder told Patch. "At first I wasn't sure what it was, then when I realized it was a shark I was obviously confused as to how it got there."

His running theory is that someone purchased it and it fell out of their bag, Roder said. It was "the weirdest subway experience" he's ever had," he said.
He posted a photo on an Instagram story, warning other straphangers: "PSA beware landsharks on F train at night."

The Twitter and Instagram account @SubwayCreatures posted Roder's photo online β and whoever is behind the NYCT Subway account quickly used the prime subway shark opportunity for a meme, tweeting out a GIF of the viral kids' song Baby Shark.
"The baby shark memes have been flying hot and fast," Roder added.
It's not the first time straphangers have seen an aquatic passenger. Back in 2013, a shark carcass was found inside of a subway car on the N train in Downtown Manhattan, the New York Daily News reported. That shark was ultimately evacuated in Queens β but on its ride, a passenger outfitted the shark with a cigarette and Red Bull drink, DNAInfo reported at the time.
Canβt believe Iβm saying this but @MTA please come get the shark out of the subway #subwaycreatures pic.twitter.com/jO80Lnxn5z
