LOWER EAST SIDE, NY β An East Village bar is opening up a second location for tacos on the Lower East Side.
Pinks, which has spent five years in the Village on East 10th Street, will open Pinks Cantina at 203 Chrystie St. between Stanton and Rivington streets.
The opening date is Monday, which so happens to coincide with National Guacamole Day.

Pinks Cantina will give out free guacamole with every order to celebrate the taqueria's opening.
Avi Burn and Alex Sassaris opened Pinks in 2014 and have expanded the Pinks brand to a catering arm and the new cantina beginning Monday. The head chef is Timo Peterson.

Plates include "LES Trash Nachos" or "Tot Mex Poutine," as well as tacos. Corn Bread Con Helado is on the menu for dessert. Order a six-pack of beer and six tacos for $60.
"Whether you need a quick bite before some SoHo shopping or a pitstop between LES barhopping, Pinks Cantina will be your new go to," Pinks Cantina said in a release.
The new location has been in the works since at least 2017, when Burn visited Community Board 3 for support for a beer and wine license.
Last year, Pinks suffered a drop in revenue when several garbage trucks were relocated in front of the business at East 10th Street and First Avenue after the city lost a garage lease in another neighborhood, making it easier for buzzed bar-goers to urinate under cover from the trucks.
The issue is still ongoing β but the bar has managed to finally set an open date for its new Lower East Side location.
Pinks Cantina's hours are Monday through Wednesday, 5 p.m. to midnight; Thursday and Friday 5 p.m. to 4 a.m, Saturday 12 p.m. to 4 a.m.; and Sunday 12 p.m. to midnight.
