James Street Fire Engulfs Building In Two Bridges: FDNY

Some 65 firefighters responded to a fire on James Street in Two Bridges, an FDNY spokesman said.

TWO BRIDGES, NY β€” A fire broke out in the basement of a three-story building on James Street Monday afternoon, an FDNY spokesman said.

The Fire Department was called just after 1 p.m. after flames were seen at the building at 37 James St. between St. James Place and Madison Street, a spokesman said.

Some 12 units and 65 firefighters responded to the fire, which the spokesman said had partially extended into the first floor.

The fire was under control just before 2 p.m. and no injuries were reported, a spokesman said.
