CHINATOWN, NY β Remember that horribly racist Fox News segment from October? The one in which "O'Reilley Factor" correspondent Jesse Watters ran around Chinatown asking residents β many of whom were elderly and non-native English speakers β if they knew karate, and whether it was the "year of the dragon"?
The one that prompted NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio to tweet: "The vile, racist behavior of Foxβs Jesse Watters in Chinatown has no place in our city. @FoxNews β keep this guy off TV"?
Well, this week, Fox decided to do just the opposite.

"Watters' World" will now be promoted from a bi-weekly mini-segment on "The O'Reilley Factor" to a weekly show, Fox announced Thursday.
"I guess the best way to describe our reaction is shocked but not shocked," Jeffrey Chen, program director of the Greater Chinatown Community Association, told Patch.

"Sure, it's shocking that a major news channel gives him a show," Chen said" But that it's Fox is not surprising."
Disgusted by Fox's decision? Do your part by getting informed and informing others about what's really going on in Chinatown, Chen suggested.
"The Asian-American community faces a lot of problems, like being used as a prop against other minorities," says Chen. "People should actually learn about the issues."
A good place to start, he said, would be to check out local work being done by the Coalition for Asian Children and Families and the Asian Federation of New York.
