Housing Lottery Offers LES Apartments Starting At $519 Per Month

Nearly 100 apartments at 115 Delancey St. are available below market-rate through the lottery.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY β€” An affordable housing lottery at the new Essex Crossing complex is offering studio apartments starting at $519 per month.

This latest lottery at the massive Lower East Side housing complex is offering 98 apartments at 115 Delancey St. at below-market rates. The 26-story building at 115 Delancey St. will include 198 apartments, plus part of the new Essex Street Market and a movie theater.

The apartments range from studios to three-bedrooms. Households earning between between 40 percent and 165 percent percent of area median income, or AMI, are eligible to apply for the lottery. Residents of the area will receive preference for 50 percent of the affordable units. Former tenants of the Seward Park Extension Urban Renewal Area will receive additional preference in the lottery.

Individuals earning between $19,680 and $26,720, or 40 percent AMI will be considered for the $519-per-month studios. The other most affordable units are priced at $558 for a one bedroom, $676 for a two bedroom and $775 for a three bedroom. The full availability and income requirements are available here.

The Essex Crossing development is a massive new project being built on the Lower East Side. In total, the apartment buildings, office buildings and retail space will include 1.9 million square feet across nine sites. The project was able to move forward by guaranteeing more than 500 affordable housing units across the entire project.
