Knifeman Stabs Man Multiple Times In The Back, Police Say
A man was stabbed multiple times, but was able to walk to a nearby hospital in serious but stable condition, the NYPD said.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY β A knifeman stabbed another man multiple times in the lower back on the Lower East Side Sunday evening after a fight broke out, the NYPD said.
A 44-year-old man and a knife-wielding man were arguing outside of a deli at Madison and Rutgers streets when the attacker began punching him in the face about 6:40 p.m. Sunday, according to police.
Police said man pulled out a switchblade knife and stabbed the other man in the lower back multiple times.

The injured man was able to walk to NewYork-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital, where he was in "serious but stable condition," police said in a release.
Police said knifeman ran off in an unknown direction.

Surveillance images released by police show he was last seen in black shorts, hat and sneakers and a white T-shirt.
