Learn How The New Rent Laws Affect You At This Workshop
Good Old Lower East Side is hosting a workshop about the new rent laws Thursday.
LOWER EAST SIDE, NY β A tenants' rights organization in the Lower East Side will host a workshop on the state's new rent laws Thursday evening.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed sweeping changes to the rent-regulation laws in June. The package of legislation overhauls the previous state rent laws that cover nearly 1 million rent-stabilized apartments in New York City, with changes aimed to further restrict when a landlord is allowed to hike up the rents.
The group Good Old Lower East Side, or GOLES, is hosting a workshop with Legal Services NYC to discuss what the new rent laws mean and how they will impact tenants.
