Learn About Seward Park's History On An LES Walking Tour
The Seward Park Conservancy is hosting a walking tour of Seward Park Sunday.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY β The Seward Park Conservancy is hosting a walking tour of Seward Park Sunday afternoon.
Learn about the history, present and future of the park with architects and historians. The walking tour begins Sunday, April 28, 3 to 4:30 p.m. at The Seward Park House, located at Seward Park on Essex and Hester streets.
Andrew Fairweather of the New York Public Library, Katie Vogel of the Henry Street Settlement and Christopher Crowley a NYC Parks Department landscape architect will lead the tour.

The tour is presented by Seward Park Conservancy in partnership with NYPL, Henry Street Settlement, the Parks Department. It is funded by a Parks Equity Grant from Councilwoman Margaret Chin to Partnerships for Parks, which was then allocated to Seward Park.
Historians will discuss Seward Park during the Progressive era. Attendees will learn about immigration and the park's transformations on the Lower East Side throughout the years. Crowley will discuss the latest renovations and explain the "Parks Without Borders" concepts a part of the park's new design.
