Knife Fight Costs Lower East Side Bar Its License

The Lower East Side bar Delilah has had its liquor license suspended after a violent knife fight outside the bar in December.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY β€” The Lower East Side bar Delilah has temporarily lost its liquor license after a string of issues at the watering hole, according to state records.

The State Liquor Authority suspended Delilah's liquor license this month, according to the agency.

The suspension, first reported by Bowery Boogie, came after an early-morning slashing outside the bar in December. The bar, located at 155 Rivington St., was later shut and raided by state authorities.

"It's clear that this licensee has put the profits of his business over the safety of his patrons, and that the continued operation of this establishment presents a severe threat to welfare of the community,” said Christopher Riano, the SLA's counsel.
