This NYC Bar Is Perfect For People Who Hate Christmas

If you detest holiday decorations and music, this bar is for you.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY β€” A bar full of Grinches is offering the opposite of holiday cheer this year. Jingle Hell's, which opened this month at 174 Orchard St., is an anti-holiday drinking spot.

"This bar is a protest against the annual insanity known as the holidays," Jingle Hell's explains on its website. It is also, it admits, a "shameless promotion" for "Happy!" the new television show starring Christopher Meloni and Patton Oswalt. The show premieres on Syfy on Dec. 6.

Jingle Hell's is taking over the space on Orchard Street which is usually occupied by the Skinny Bar & Lounge. It will be open through Dec. 10.

The bar's menu is decked out with seasonal drinks like "The Worst Noel" (made with vodka-infused iced tea, lemon, mint and simply syrup) and "Santa's Cough Medicine" (made with apple cider and bourbon). You can see a full menu here.

Events at the bar range from dirty caroling to the anti-SantaCon-Con, a protest of the annual drunken bar crawl throughout New York City that's scheduled to start in Midtownnext weekend. Plus, there's also live piano music every night.

The opening night party, which drew the show's stars Oswalt and Meloni, also included a surprise visit from Meloni's former "Law & Order: SVU" partner Mariska Hargitay, better known as Detective Olivia Benson.
