Lower East Side Fire Breaks Out At 6-Story Building, FDNY Says
Some 60 firefighters responded to a fire at a 6-story building on Suffolk Street in the Lower East Side Wednesday afternoon, the FDNY said.
LOWER EAST SIDE, NY β A fire blazed through an apartment of a six-story building on the Lower East Side Wednesday afternoon, an FDNY spokesperson said.
Firefighters got a call for a fire in an apartment on the fifth floor at 112 Suffolk St. between Rivington and Delancey streets about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, the FDNY spokesperson said.
The FDNY rep said 12 units and 60 firefighters responded to the fire.

No injuries had been reported as of Wednesday afternoon, according to the spokesperson. Emergency responders had a handle on the fire before about 1 p.m., though it was not fully under control at that time, the spokesperson said.
