Lower East Side Shooting Injures 31-Year-Old Man Near Seward Park

Police describe the victim as "uncooperative."

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY β€” A 31-year-old man was shot in the shoulder around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday morning near the intersection of Hester and Essex streets, at the northwestern corner of Seward Park on the Lower East Side, according to a NYPD spokesperson.

Police responded to a 911 call about a shot fired, and connected it to a 31-year-old man who walked into New York-Presbyterian's Lower Manhattan Hospital with a gunshot wound in his shoulder.

The police spokesperson described the victim, who is being treated and remains in stable condition, as "uncooperative," in that he did not wish to provide further details to the police.
