Man Attacked By 3 People On The Lower East Side, Police Say

Police are still searching for the three attackers who beat and slashed a pedestrian, according to the NYPD.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY β€” Three people attacked a pedestrian on Wednesday as he was walking in the Lower East Side, police said.

The 41-year-old victim was walking near Delancey and Columbia streets on Wednesday at about 4:35 p.m. when two men and a woman came up from behind and attacked him, according to police.

One man punched the 41-year-old in the face, forcing him to the ground, while the second attacker, a woman, slashed him across the right side of his face, the NYPD said in a statement. A third man served as a lookout while they other two were attacking the 41-year-old, police said.

The man was transported to a nearby hospital where he was treated for his wounds and released.

All three attackers ran from the area, and police are working to locate and identify them. The man who punched the victim in the face was seen wearing a sweatshirt with the BMW car logo on it, according to surveillance footage.

A clip of surveillance footage appears to show two of the attackers leaning over the victim as he lays injured on the street.
