Michaeli Bakery Is Opening On The Lower East Side
The former top pastry chef at Breads, Adir Michaeli, is opening a new bakery on the Lower East Side.
LOWER EAST SIDE, NY β A new bakery is coming to the Lower East Side Thursday.
The former executive pastry chef at Breads, Adir Michaeli, is opening up his own bakery with babka, flaky burekas, rugelach and more Israeli-style pastries.
Michaeli and his bakery partner for the new shop, Anat Sror, will open Michaeli Bakery at 115A Division St. between Orchard and Ludlow streets Thursday at 10 a.m.

The takeout shop has six counter seats and an open kitchen for customers to watch pastries and breads being baked. There will be burekas, rugelach, kugelhopf, babka, signature log cakes, cookies and coffee from Irving Farm.
Michaeli grew up in Israel and trained under pastry chef Roni Fredy Mordechai. At a popular bakery in Tel Aviv, Lehamim Bakery, Michaeli ran the pastry department and eventually the main production facility. In 2013, he helped to open Breads Bakery in New York.

Hours for the new bakery are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
