Motorcyclist Dies After Being Hit By Unlicensed Driver, Cops Say

A motorcyclist was killed after being run over by an unlicensed driver, police said.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY β€” A 20-year-old motorcyclist died early Sunday after falling from his bike and being ran over on the FDR Drive in the Lower East Side, police said.

Moises Larriu, 20, of Waterbury, Connecticut, was driving with a group of bikers in a "reckless manner" heading northbound on the FDR Drive, according to an NYPD spokesperson.

He fell off his 2012 Yamaha bike and was subsequently ran over by an unlicensed driver in a 2008 Infiniti about 12:45 a.m. Sunday, police said. Police did not have additional details about what Larriu was doing when he fell from his bike.

Cops found the biker unconscious with head and body injuries, police said. Emergency medial personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.

The driver, 20-year-old Gamal Ibrahim of the Upper West Side, stayed at the scene of the crash and was arrested for not having a license, police said.
