New Dessert Bar Hosts Community Day For Lower Eastside Girls Club
The new dessert bar and cafe on Stanton Street is serving up desserts in a pay-what-you-wish day to benefit the Lower Eastside Girls Club.
LOWER EAST SIDE, NY β A new dessert spot on the Lower East Side will serve desserts for however much you want to pay for a community day to raise cash for the Lower Eastside Girls Club Saturday.
Bonsai KakigΕri, a new spot serving traditional Japanese shaved ice desserts as well as matcha and coffee drinks, will host the benefit day from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday.
Customers can pay however much they want for one item on the menu, and all proceeds will be donated to the Lower Eastside Girls Club, according to the new dessert spot, which is located at 100 Stanton St.

Bonsai is also launching a special dessert flavor in a collaboration between the co-owners Theo Friedman and Gaston Becherano and Ivan Orkin, of Ivan Ramen.
Throughout the month of May, Bonsai will be selling the dessert made with cold brew coffee, smoke almonds, salted coffee caramel, coffee jelly and espresso mousse.
