Nuyorican Poets Cafe Holds Anti-Gentrification Activism Talk
Jeremiah Moss, Sarah Schulman, Betty Yu, and others will discuss anti-gentrification activism on the Lower East Side.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY β The famed Nuyoricans Poets Cafe will host a talk about anti-gentrification activism with authors and poets early next month.
"Recognize and Resist: Hope in a Time of Rapid Gentrification" will feature a slew of authors and poets who will talk about the impacts of gentrification and various forms of activism against it β with a focus on the history and changes on the Lower East Side.
Curated by Anne Patsch, author of the forthcoming book "7 Wonders of the East Village," authors Jeremiah Moss and Sarah Schulman and co-founder of the Chinatown Art Brigade Betty Yu will talk about anti-gentrification activism in a panel. Artists Craig "muMs" Grant, Caridad De La Luz and Darian Dauchan will hold poetic performances.

Tickets are $10 online, $13 at the door, and $7 for students at the door. Doors open 6:30 p.m., Dec. 5, and the event runs 7 to 9 p.m. at the cafe, 236 E. Third St. between avenues B and C.
