What to eat: Clay promises to serve the freshest food available from local farms. The farm-to-table restaurant opened in the space previously occupied by Perkβs Fine Cuisine on Manhattan Avenue in Harlem. The restaurant also includes hand-crafted cocktails, plus a lengthy wine and beer list.

What to eat: Baked goods, of every type. This new bakery opened two locations in NYC recently; one on the Lower East Side, and a second location in Queens. You can get get pretty much any type of bread imaginable β plus some types you didnβt know existed. The bakeryβs specialties include seashell bread, blueberry cake with fresh cream, lava tarts and more.

What to drink: Sake. Brooklyn Kura is a new brewery in Industry City that focuses on American craft sake. The tap room serves a rotating menu of sakes on draft, plus light snacks. Brooklyn Kura says it's trying to dispel the American notion of shots of warm sake, and instead encourage the tradition of a chilled or room temperature sake.

What to eat: Kosher ramen. Boru Boru says is the first restaurant to serve ramen and other dishes according to Kosher guidelines. The restaurant's menu is inspired by the diverse streets of the 1920s Lower East Side, according to its website, and includes ramen and boru bowls. You can read more about the restaurant here.
