
LOWER EAST SIDE, NY β A Chinese restaurant that opened on the Lower East Side nearly 100 years ago is one of 17 city eateries recognized for their decades of service.
Nom Wah Tea Parlor on Doyers Street in Chinatown opened in 1920. It is one of 23 city restaurants to be awarded the Legacy Award by the Chinese Restaurant Association.
The awards are designed to recognize the nation's 100 longest standing establishments.
