Sake Festival Comes To The Lower East Side This Saturday

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY β€” Sake breweries will take over the Lower East Side this weekend in the first annual sake festival.

Hester Street Fair will host its first ever sake festival Saturday at Hester and Essex streets.

Top notch sake brewers will be at the festival to meet fellow sake enthusiasts at the event. Exclusive sake brands will be up for grabs from breweries based in Iwate, Nara, and Yamagata in Japan as well as Brooklyn-based brewery Brooklyn Kura.

Chef Keizo Shimamoto's ramen burger will be served, as well as eats from The Izakaya, Rooster Boy, OtakuKatsu, Brooklyn Ramen, Hakata Tonton, and Nyrture New York Natto.

A tasting ticket for 10 samples is available starting at $45 plus fees, but the festival itself is free.

Hester Street Fair curates a variety of festivals on the Lower East Side at Seward Park. The fair is hosting the festival in collaboration with Sake Discoveries and The Izakaya.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
