Scaffolding Collapses On The Lower East Side Amid Nor'easter
No was injured by the falling scaffolding, authorities said.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY β Scaffolding on the Lower East Side collapsed on Friday afternoon amid a Nor'easter that was battering the city with powerful winds.
A scaffold erected near 154 Broome St., outside of a NYCHA property, fell on Friday at about 2:15 p.m., a fire department spokesman said. No one was injured in the collapse, authorities said.
Photos of the broken scaffolding showed that the structure had been completely destroyed on Friday afternoon.

A spokeswoman for the city's buildings department said investigators were on scene reviewing the incident.
Assembly Member Yuh-Line Niou, who represents the neighborhood, said that NYCHA had been alerted to the collapse.

The powerful storm is expected to batter New York through Saturday with wet conditions and winds approaching 60 mph, according to the latest National Weather Service forecast.
