Shocking Video Shows LES Robbers Attacking Man

The video shows a 55-year-old man sprawled on the ground after he is attacked.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY β€” Police released startling surveillance footage on Tuesday showing two robbers attacking a man in the lobby of an apartment building, leaving him injured on the floor.

The assault happened on Monday night, and neither suspect has been arrested, police said.

The 55-year-old man was walking inside the building, at 45 Pike St., on Monday at about 10:40 when he was approached by two men from behind.

Partial surveillance footage from the lobby shows the robbers hitting the man in the face and then striking him multiple times with an unknown object. The man is left sprawled on the floor. The robbers ran off with the man's shopping bag, police said.

The 55-year-old was transported to the hospital where was treated for bruises to his head and leg, police said.

Police released surveillance photos and video of both men on Tuesday and are still working to identify and locate them.
