Thief Threatens Employee With Gun, Robs Store Of Cash: NYPD

A robber slapped a store employee's chest, said he had a gun, and demanded cash, police said.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY β€” A robber stole cash and lottery tickets from a corner store last week, threatening the store employee with a gun, police said.

The thief walked up to the 26-year-old store employee and hit him in the chest demanding money from Star Convenience Store at Stanton and Allen streets on Sept. 4 about 1:30 a.m., police said.

Police said that the thief said he had a gun and then stole $300 in cash and lottery tickets from behind the counter.

The robber ran off westbound on Stanton Street, according to cops. He was wearing a light-colored T-shirt and a black hat, surveillance images released by police show.
