Traffic Agent Sentenced For Fatal Crash On Williamsburg Bridge
The off-duty NYPD traffic agent had been driving home from a Manhattan bar at 111 miles per hour.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY β A drunk NYPD traffic agent who killed his 21-year-old passenger when he crashed his car after speeding across the Williamsburg Bridge was sentenced to up to 12 years in prison Wednesday.
Stefan Hoyte will serve his sentence in state prison, the Manhattan District Attorneyβs office said. Hoyte pleaded guilty to killing Amanda Miner who was in the passenger seat when he crashed his car on the Williamsburg Bridge on March 16 around 3 a.m.
The off-duty NYPD traffic agent had been driving Miner and her boyfriend home from a Manhattan bar in his 2013 Infiniti G37, which he drove at 111 miles per hour and lost control of the car, said prosecutors. He was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to between four and 12 years.

Hoyte's car split in two when it rammed a pillar that divided the inner and outer roadways, said prosecutors.
Emergency responders who rushed to the crash noted Hoyte appeared drunk and, when his blood was tested at an area hospital, he was found to have a blood alcohol level of .12, said prosecutors.
